Lenexa Civic Center Star Painting and Parking Lot Marking Project
Custom star stenciling and parking lot marking restored clear boundary visibility across Lenexa’s busy Civic Center complex.
Restoring Faded Boundary Markings at the Lenexa Civic Center
The City of Lenexa contacted EverLine Coatings and Services of Kansas City to restore a series of painted stars throughout the Lenexa Civic Center complex in Lenexa, KS. Over time, the stars had faded due to heavy pedestrian traffic across the property. These markings serve an important purpose by identifying the point where visitors leave Civic Center property and where alcohol is no longer permitted.
Maintaining clear visibility of these stars was important for wayfinding and public awareness throughout this busy recreation destination, which includes a parking garage, an aquatic center, a county library, a restaurant, and outdoor play areas. Having successfully completed previous projects for the City of Lenexa, EverLine Coatings and Services of Kansas City was selected again based on the strong results delivered on past work.
Custom Stenciling and Parking Lot Painting for a High-Traffic Civic Center
To restore the visibility of these important property boundary markers, EverLine Coatings and Services of Kansas City completed:
- Custom stenciling of star markings throughout the Civic Center property
- Parking lot striping associated with the project areas
The stars were repainted throughout the Civic Center complex, helping to ensure visitors can easily recognize when they are leaving Civic Center property.
Coordinating Evening Work Around Traffic and Active Public Spaces
This project was completed during evening hours to minimize disruption to visitors and facility operations. The work required approximately nine hours, including setup and cleanup. While the overall process followed a standard workflow, the team encountered several challenges during execution. Vehicles parked near certain work areas and ongoing pedestrian traffic slowed progress in certain sections of the property. Despite these unforeseen variables, EverLine Coatings and Services of Kansas City adjusted the schedule as needed and completed the project in a timely and professional manner. Material usage was estimated accurately, and the finished markings were applied neatly throughout the site.
Visible Markings Enhance the Lenexa Civic Center Experience
The newly painted stars restored the visibility of an important visual feature throughout the Lenexa Civic Center. Visitors can once again clearly identify the designated property boundaries as they move between the parking garage, aquatic center, library, restaurant, and outdoor recreation spaces. The City of Lenexa was very pleased with the outcome, and local residents expressed appreciation for the effort to help keep their city looking great. The positive response has also led to additional opportunities for future work with the city.
