Boosting Efficiency at Amazon Warehouses One Coat of Paint at a Time
Amazon warehouses deliver massive amounts of packages each day, and those boxes have to be loaded onto trucks. A bustling company like Amazon requires maximum efficiency to hit their promised delivery times and that takes extra effort in coordinating all parts of the process. More specifically, it requires all drivers to have a guide on where to stop while navigating the busy truckyard.
To help their drivers hit their mark every time, Amazon wanted to apply blue striping along the truck stalls. Two Northern Illinois facilities needed this work completed and because Amazon has a national account with EverLine Coatings, we were given these particular projects located within our service area.
Our Largest Line Striping Project to Date!
The obvious solution for Amazon was parking lot line striping. It required new, 12-inch blue stripes, which meant we had to measure, chalk and confirm each line before ever getting started with the painting. More specifically, we needed to ensure that the blue stripe was applied at exactly 53 feet from the front edge of the wheel stops.
We easily completed the project, even formulating a custom blue color specifically for Amazon called Prime Blue. After the first coat was put down, we applied a glass bead additive with the second coat. In all, we applied over 6,000 feet of lines at each location. When you account for two coats of paint, that adds up to over 12,000 linear feet of line striping and makes this our largest line striping job to date.
