Helping an Industrial Facility Improve Safety in a Crowded Work Environment
Industrial warehouses often operate in fast-paced environments where equipment, inventory, and personnel all share the same space. At this Nisku oil and gas facility, maintaining clear visual guidance throughout the warehouse was essential. Safety lines, pedestrian pathways, and designated locations for critical safety equipment such as fire extinguishers needed to remain visible and easy to identify despite the challenges of a busy industrial setting. The client began searching for a contractor who could handle the project properly and found EverLine Coatings and Services of Edmonton through Google. Although several companies reviewed the project, EverLine Coatings stood out by arriving prepared with a clear understanding of the facility’s needs and a practical plan for completing the work.

Creating Durable Safety Markings Throughout the Warehouse
To improve visibility and organization throughout the facility, EverLine Coatings completed a comprehensive warehouse floor marking project that included:
- Surface preparation through shot blasting and hand grinding
- Pressure washing to remove contaminants and prepare the floor for coatings
- Application of traffic paint in yellow, black, green, red, and white
- Installation of highly visible safety markings and designated zones
- Creation of black-and-yellow hatched safety areas
- Application of a clear epoxy coating to improve durability and longevity
The combination of multiple colours and protective coatings created a highly visible floor marking system designed to withstand the demands of an active industrial environment.
Completing the Work During Overnight Shifts
Because the warehouse operates as an active industrial facility, the work was scheduled overnight when operations were not running. This approach allowed the team to complete the project while avoiding disruption to the client’s daily activities.
The team began by evaluating the condition of the floor and determining that pressure washing would be required before any coatings could be applied. Following surface preparation through shot blasting and grinding, the floor markings were carefully installed using multiple colours to distinguish safety zones, pathways, and equipment locations. Once the traffic paint had been applied, a clear epoxy coating was added to help protect the markings and extend their lifespan. The project required several long overnight shifts, and the team remained focused on completing the work efficiently while maintaining a high standard of quality.
A Safer, More Visible Warehouse Ready for Daily Operations
The finished project provided the facility with a much clearer visual system for navigating the warehouse and identifying important safety features. The newly installed markings improved visibility throughout the space, while the black-and-yellow hatched areas created particularly strong visual cues for workers and visitors.
The client was pleased with both the process and the final result and has already expressed interest in working with EverLine Coatings and Services of Edmonton again in the future. For warehouses, manufacturing facilities, and industrial properties in Nisku, professional floor markings can play a critical role in supporting safety and operational efficiency.
