The Village of Marwayne set out to make better use of an existing outdoor court by expanding the range of activities it could support. Rather than dedicating the space to a single sport, the goal was to create a flexible recreational area that could serve residents of all ages. By reimagining the layout of one asphalt pad, the Village aimed to turn a familiar space into a shared hub for basketball, pickleball, badminton, and tennis.
Balancing Function, Visibility, and Community Use
With multiple sports planned for the same surface, careful planning was essential. The court needed to remain easy to navigate, even with overlapping lines and interchangeable net systems already in place. Clear organization, strong visual contrast, and long term durability were priorities, ensuring the space would remain usable and inviting throughout the seasons.
Transforming an Asphalt Pad into a MultiSport Court
EverLine Coatings provided athletic court line painting services to bring the Village’s vision to life. The team painted two FIBA regulation basketball courts aligned with existing nets, along with a standalone pickleball court. An additional overlapping court was designed to accommodate pickleball, badminton, and tennis using the Village’s interchangeable netting system. A custom stencil of the Village’s logo was also added, with all markings applied in traffic paint colours matched as closely as possible to the Village’s branding.
A Clear and Organized Installation Process
With clear weather throughout the schedule, the work was completed over three days. Day one established the basketball court lines in yellow, forming the foundation of the layout. On the second day, blue, green, and white lines were added for tennis, pickleball, and badminton, creating a clear and balanced multi-sport configuration. The final day was dedicated to applying the custom logo stencil, completing the transformation with a visual element unique to the Village.
A Space Ready for Play and Community Connection
Once complete, the court offered a noticeably improved experience for residents, providing multiple recreational options within a single, well organized space. The Village’s chief administrative officer shared:
