Before moving forward, they needed clarity on whether the existing surface could be restored and upgraded, and whether the work could be completed within the short mountain weather window available to them.
Outdated Tennis Court Surface at Mountain Resort
Located in a remote national park setting, the court had not been maintained for years. The existing coating was worn, uneven, and affected by tree roots that had pushed sections of the surface upward. Low spots across the court, commonly called “bird baths,” allowed water to pool after rainfall, impacting playability and long-term durability.
Beyond the surface issues, the amenity itself no longer aligned with guest demand. Pickleball had become far more popular than tennis, and the resort wanted to modernize the space to better serve visitors.
Complete Athletic Court Restoration and Pickleball Conversion
As part of our athletic court service, the EverLine Coatings team began by removing the existing coating and grinding down areas affected by root heave. A flood test was then performed to identify all low spots where water could collect. These areas were filled with patch binders to create a smooth, level playing surface.
Once the court was properly prepared, we applied two coats of resurfacer, followed by two coats of green and two coats of blue acrylic coating. The project concluded with precise white pickleball line striping to meet regulation standards.
Working Within a Limited Mountain Installation Window
All work was completed over seven days. Because the site is located within a national park, there were additional logistical considerations, including restrictions on drone use. Mountain weather conditions also created a narrow installation window, making scheduling and execution critical to project success.
Long-Awaited Upgrade Delivered
The resort team was pleased to see the transformation. What was once an aging tennis court is now a refreshed, level, and vibrant pickleball surface ready for guests to enjoy.
